Ms. Kira is the Director of the Preschool and After Care program here at Saint Andrew Academy.

Kira was born and raised in Louisville, Ky residing is the wonderful southend of Louisville for the past 23 years. After Graduating form The Brown School she attended IU Southeast for Secondary eEducation, Chemistry. After having her 2 boys (Both proud SAA students) she found her true calling of Early Childhood Education. After earning a degree in Early Childhood Education she spent 4 years teaching 4 Year Old Preschool. During this time she was an active member of the SAA PTO eventually serving some time as President. In 2016 she achieved her dream job as the Director of the SAA Preschool Program giving her the opportunity to work at the school that is like a second family to her. When Ms. Kira isn’t working with teachers, students and families, volunteering for school events or running her boys to their sporting events she enjoys cuddling with one or more of her dogs ( Thor, Copper, Hulk, Rocky, Groot or Gamora… Yes there are 6!) , drinking coffee and reading.

She was born and raised in Marion County, Kentucky. Attended St. Augustine (in Lebanon) for grades 1st - 8th, Lebanon Middle School for 9th and Marion County High School for 10th-12th. She met her husband in the 11th grade. They later married and moved to West Virginia for a short time, then to Louisville. They have three children, all of whom have graduated from St. Andrew Academy.
She have held many positions since starting my career in education 27 years ago. I was a classroom teacher for 15 years and an assistant principal for 5 years. She has been a counselor/learning coordinator for 7 years. When she is not working, she loves to spend time with her family. Hobbies include wood working, making a variety of crafts, and reading.

Kathy Blanton is currently teaching 5th grade Math, Language Arts and Religion; 7th and 8th grade Religion; and 4th Grade Math. She has been teaching in the Archdiocese of Louisville since 1977. She is single. She has four brothers and a sister. She has two nieces and a nephew. She has a great-nephew and great-niece.

Miss Blanton received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Bellarmine College. She received her Master’s Degree from Spalding University. She began her teaching career at St. Paul school where she taught and was principal. Then in 2001 she left St. Paul to go back to the classroom at Our Lady of Consolation School. When Our Lady of Consolation closed in 2005, she began teaching at St. Andrew Academy.

Miss Blanton is the Academic Coach for students in grades four through eight. She is also Safety Patrol Moderator. She also supports the students she teaches by attending their sport games.

Miss Blanton in her spare time likes to read and travel. Her hopes are to travel to all 50 states. She has traveled in 44 states. She also enjoys family time spent with her family. Every Wednesday is Spaghetti night at the Blanton house.

Mr. Stuart “Butch” Cripe has been in eduacation going on his 42 years. He has earned degrees in Science, Math and Sociology. He obtained his Master Degree and his Princip[al Professional Certificate while earning his way to his Rank 1. He has an array of experience teaching in the private and public school systems for 18 years. He served as Curriculum, Professional Development, Safety and Textbook Chairs. He Coordinated Master Schedules and Testing. He has been a Mentor in Kentucky Teacher’s Internship and Principalship Programs. He also facilitated over Proficiency Teams and Tools for Teaching. After his 18th year in the classroom his career path shifted to an Administration role. He became an Assistant Principal and later a Principal. He has served in that capacity going on his 24th year. He has a daughter, Registered Nurse and son, Clinical Psychologist and both are products of the Catholic School Systems. He also has two granddaughters who are 3 and 5.

Robin Davis is currently teaching Language Arts, Religion, and Social Studies in Kindergarten. She has been teaching in the Archdiocese of Louisville for 25 years, and she has taught at St. Andrew Academy since it opened. When our school was formed, she was the Kindergarten teacher and continued to teach at that grade level for three more years. She then moved to first grade for three years, but she moved back to Kindergarten at the first available opportunity. She is currently in her eighth year back where her passion is in Kindergarten.
Mrs. Davis received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math from Bellarmine College. She taught for four years in grades K-6 at St. Benedict in Lebanon Junction and one year at St. Luke in Louisville. She then stayed at home with her young children while she finished her Master’s degree from Spalding University. Mrs. Davis started teaching again in 1999, this time at St. Polycarp. She was a Kindergarten teacher there when it closed and merged to become St. Andrew Academy.
Mrs. Davis loves working with young children, guiding them as they use their natural sense of wonder, excitement, and creativity to learn and grow. Mrs. Davis allows her students to work at their own pace, challenging those with advanced skills and giving extra time to those who need more assistance by often tutoring them after school. She helped develop a Peer Tutoring program at St. Andrew where Junior High students work one-on-one or with small groups of children in grades K-2 one day a week after school.
When not in the classroom, Mrs. Davis enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. Although her children are now adults, they still enjoy playing games together whenever their schedules allow them to do so. Mrs. Davis is an avid University of Louisville fan, and she and her husband enjoy attending their football games.

Roger Deskins is currently the Instructional Coordinator at St. Andrew Academy. His is a graduate of Tennesse Martin where he acquired a Bachelors and a Masters Degree.

Mr. Deskins spent 23 years as a Social Studies teacher and 7 years an Administrator before retiring from Public Education.

When not in the classroom Mr. Deskins spent 23 years coaching many different sports including Football, Boys and Girls Track and Girls fastpitch softball. He was the head football coach at Valley High School from 2004-2010.

I am Ms. Brittani and this is my second year at Saint Andrew Academy. I teach Pre-K 4. I have worked with children early on and knew that this was my calling in life. I love being a preschool teacher. I feel like I set the foundation for your child’s education. I want your child to enjoy coming to school. The more they enjoy school the better they learn. I want them to always know that I believe in them and support them. I teach them to be as independent as possible and that it’s okay to make mistakes if you learn from them. Children that come into my room leave footprints in my heart forever.

I received my bachelor’s degree in science in Early Childhood Education from Campbellsville University. I plan on returning to school for my Masters.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am not married, nor do I have any children except for my four-legged lab mix named Jojo. I also enjoy crafting, coloring, painting, and scrapbooking. I am also a U of L Cardinal fan! Go Cards!

Robin Greenwell is currently teaching Art and this is her first year at St. Andrew. She is a retired Art teacher from JCPS where she taught middle school for 26 years and elementary one year. Mrs. Greenwell received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from U of L and also received her teaching certificate from there.
Mrs. Greenwell enjoys teaching Art and helping students be creative and “artsmart”. She has Art Club for 6,7, and 8th grade at St. Andrew for those interested in pursuing their art interests.
In her spare time, she enjoys family, friends, traveling, decorating, gardening, painting and of course other types of Art.

My name is Señora Deborah Hernandez and I am the Spanish teacher here at Saint Andrew Academy and this is my second year teaching in Kentucky.

I am originally from Louisville, but have spent the last 15 years in Atlanta, Georgia, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Kennesaw State University. I also have a Master’s degree in Education with an English as a Second Language certification. I am certified to teach Spanish in the states of Georgia and Kentucky and I taught high school Spanish for a year at Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia.
I live in Saint Matthews with my husband and 14 year old son who is entering 9th grade at Saint Xavier this year.

Vicki Johnston teaches Language Arts to the first and second graders at St. Andrew Academy. She also teaches Religion and Science to the second grade.
Ms. Johnston received her Bachelor Degree from Ball State University and her Master Degree from Indiana University Southeast.
She has taught for 43 years, with most of it being in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Vicki has taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and Third Grade.
When not teaching, she spends time volunteering with the Girl Scouts. She enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
Curling up with a good book, solving puzzles, and doing crafts are favorite pasttimes.
Vicki is also active in her parish, St. Peter the Apostle, where she teaches Religious Education.

Mr. Ketterer teaches math and science for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. He received his Bachelors in Chemistry from the University of Louisville in 2006. In 2017, he completed the MAT program through the University of the Cumberlands with an emphasis in middle grades math and science.
Mr. Ketterer helps coach quick recall and is the sponsor for the middle school student council. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Lisa Murray currently teaches first grade most of the day at Saint Andrew Academy. She also teaches Math and Social Studies to the second grade while her first graders are having Language Arts in the second grade room.
Mrs. Murray taught first and fourth grades at St. Polycarp. While living in Bartlett, Tennessee for two years, she taught Kindergarten and 3rd grade at St. Michael in West Memphis, Arkansas. She has taught Kindergarten, first, second, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders at St. Andrew.
Mrs. Murray’s educational background was centered around her Catholic faith. She attended St. Rita and Holy Rosary Academy. Graduate and Undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education were earned at Bellarmine College.
Mrs. Murray and her husband were married at St. Polycarp in 1990. They have one child and three grandchildren.
When not in the classroom, Mrs. Murray enjoys spending time with family, reading, scrapbooking, hunting for great ideas on Pinterest, and looking for those perfect shells hiding on the Florida beaches.

Mrs. Ashley was born and raised in Louisville, KY. You can find her around St. Andrew Academy with the Pre-K classes (and sometimes Kindergarten). Mrs. Ashley married her high school sweetheart and they have two girls who also attend St. Andrew Academy.

When not in the classroom, Mrs. Ashley spends her spare time with her husband, children and dog. You may even see Mrs. Ashley at St. Andrew sporting events cheering on her daughters and other fellow jaguar students. GO JAGS!

Catherine J. Wright teaches third, fourth, and fifth grade Science Classes. Also, she teaches fourth and sixth grade Religion classes and third grade Social Studies. Mrs. Wright is the teacher representative on the PTO board, Book Fair Chairperson,and she works on technology issues at Saint Andrew Academy.

Mrs. Catherine J. Wright has earned a Rank One from the University of Louisville. She is a Master Catechist in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Mrs. Wright has been teaching for the Archdiocese of Louisville since August 1998. She first taught at Our Lady of Consolation before it merged with other schools to form Saint Andrew Academy.

Mrs. Wright’s dad was in the military. She was born in Augsburg, Germany. Mrs. Wright went to many elementary schools in the United States and Germany. An interesting fact is that Mrs. Wright has no aunts or uncles, since her parents were only children. Also, this means that she has no first cousins.

Some of the titles Mrs. Wright has are wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and sister besides being a teacher. Mrs. Wright is a member of Saint Martin of Tours, Flaherty, KY where she is a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and a member of the Adult Choir.
